The Primrose Garden Vajiraramaya is one of the well known Buddhist monastery in Kandy region in Sri Lanka. This is situated in a tranquil environment in the peak of the mountain Primrose. This institution has been servicing to the people in Kandy region nearly three decades and an immense facilitator for the society in teaching Dhamma and social servicing.

 

This institution is one of the main branch of Maharagama Sri Vajirañana Dhamma institution and was established in 11th of January 1981. Primrose Garden Vajiraramaya had been a shelter for well known and well respected monks who travel not only throughout the country but also around the globe to deliver the Lord Buddha’s preachings for the people with the thirst of Dhamma.

 

A Bhikku training center is associated with Vajiraramaya to educate the young monks and to develop their skills. Meditation seminors and Dhamma discussions are conducted for the benifit of lay people. Sunday Dhamma School is for the children to produce an ethical and encouraged young mindset. The social servicing societies are embedded into the monastery system to facilitate and aid the society. Those are Sasana Sewaka Samithiya, Sasana Sewika Samithiya and Thuru Saviya youth organization.

Unduwap Poya Day Pinkama   Katina Pinkama 2012

Unduwap Poya day 'Sil' program will be held on 27th of December 2012. The programe of the day can be found here.

New Dhamma School Building   "Foster Parental" Fund

Presently, the Dhamma school is conducted in the Dhamma hall and in the library of the temple. Therfore in order to provide a better environment for the young minds, a new building has been proposed by the Dhamma School Development Society. The detailed letter and the budget can be found here

 

In order to facilitate the basic needs of the young monks who are studing in privena, a "Foster Parental" fund has been established by doners. Information about this fund can be found here.
